Isaac teaches private lessons for adults, teens, children, couples, and groups of friends. Classes are held in his working studio space in Florence, MA, throughout the month, and at his Potsdam, NY studio at the beginning of every other month. His classes are intended to be fun, informal, and personable, while also being incredibly productive and informative. All classes have a limit of four students, ensuring that everyone has plenty of individual attention.
The cost of each class includes:
- The use of Isaac’s tools (you don’t have to bring a thing except your enthusiasm and clothes that can get dirty!)
- The trimming, glazing, and firing of all work you create during your class
- The 25 lbs of clay that you will use during your class
- At least six finished pieces of your own work (one-on-one instruction typically produces 6–8 finished pieces). Please allow a three week turnaround time to collect your finished work.
This class is intended for someone who has never touched a wheel before, or for someone looking for a refresher course. The student will be guided through all the basic skills needed for wheel throwing, including clay preparation, proper wedging techniques, centering clay on the wheel, throwing outer and inner walls of a vessel, and trimming and glazing.
