Isaac was born and raised in Northern New York. In 2009 he graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a degree in Art Education. For three years he was the district art teacher for a small central K–12 public school in the foothills of the Adirondacks. Isaac left his teaching position in 2012 when he was awarded a grant to start his own business, Isaac Jude Pottery, in the village of Potsdam.
In August of 2015, Isaac opened a second studio in the Arts and Industry Building in Florence, MA. He and his wife, artist Hilary Emerson Lay, divide their time between Western Massachusetts and Northern New York.
